Resources on Ruth

As we begin our sermon series on Ruth, I wanted to share with you some of the resources I am using for my weekly sermon preparation. I will share a brief thought on each resource.

ESV Study Bible

I have used the ESV Study Bible for a few years now and find it to be very helpful. I use the online login the most, it can be accessed anywhere there is an internet connection. The online option also has highlighting and note taking capabilities.

A Sweet and Bitter Providence

If you want a study on the Book of Ruth that reads more like a book instead of a reference volume, then this is the book to get.

The Gospel According to the Old Testament: From Famine to Fullness

I have really enjoyed this series of Old Testament studies. This volume serves as a good study tool on the Book of Ruth.

The New American Commentary: Judges/Ruth

This is a reference volume that is a little more on the technical side. It is a verse by verse study that covers exegesis, historical context, and theology.

The New International Commentary on the Old Testament: Ruth

Another reference tool that is similar in style to the one above.
