Matt Baker – Pastor of Preaching

Matt was born in South Carolina where he lived until he was 13 when his family relocated to Georgia. He attended Leavell College of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in 2005. Matt has served as a Youth Pastor and Senior Pastor in other churches prior to planting Redeemer Fellowship in October of 2011. Matt and his wife Brandon were married in 2003 and they have four young children: Micah, Norah, Jonah, and Samuel.

Mike Baker

Mike was born and lived in Westminster, SC, until 1995 where he served in churches as a bi-vocational Music Minister for 23 years and as a bi-vocational Associate Pastor for two years.  At the age of 44 he started attending the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary extension in Atlanta and received a bachelor’s degree in 1996 with a major in Christian Education and minor in Church Administration. During this time Mike moved his family to Georgia and has served in several ministry positions with churches in the Gainesville area. He is a founding Elder of Redeemer Fellowship Church. Mike was married for 39 years to his wife Melanie, who went to be with Our Lord on September 1, 2015. They have two grown children, Michelle and Matt, and four grandchildren.

Jess Odell

Jess was born in Hall County Georgia, where he has lived his entire life, other than his time at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he graduated with a degree in Humanities in 2011. Jess is married to his wife Kate who he met while in college. They were married in 2011 and have been blessed with four children: Jackson, Silas, Kuyper, and Elam. Jess and his family currently live in Maysville, GA and love severing the body of Redeemer Fellowship Church.

Jonathan McLendon

Jonathan was born in Gainesville, Georgia. His family moved to Douglasville, Georgia when he was 8 years old where he finished high school. He attended Truett McConnell College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary extension in Atlanta. He has served in various vocational and bi-vocational ministry positions: Pastor of children and youth in Blairsville, GA; Associate Pastor of youth and education in Lithia Springs, GA; Pastor of Students in Batesville, AR; and he presently leads music here at Redeemer.  Jonathan married his wife Blakley in 2004 and they have 4 children: Madison, Makayla, Micah, and Malachi.
